Kid-size cups, usually for caffeine-free picks like 7 Fizz, lemonades and shakes.

Small

Medium

Small vs medium: same caffeine

For espresso drinks, a small and a medium have the same caffeine, about 120 mg. The medium is bigger because it has more milk, ice and syrup, not more espresso. If you want more caffeine without more calories, order a small with an extra shot instead of a medium.

How much caffeine is too much?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration cites 400 mg a day as an amount not generally associated with negative effects for healthy adults. A large cold brew (about 357 mg) or a Triple 7 (about 360 mg) gets close to that in one drink. People who are pregnant, sensitive to caffeine or taking certain medications should talk to a doctor about their limit.
